Tensor neural networks - a step in the right dimension

Short bio:

Dr. Lior Horesh is a Principal Research Staff Member, Master Inventor and a Senior Manager of the Mathematics of AI group at IBM Research. His group's mission is to approach some of the big challenges the field of AI is facing, from a principled mathematical angle. This involves conceiving and bringing in state-of-the-art mathematical theories, algorithms and analysis tools, in hope of advancing fundamentally generalizability, scalability and interpretability of AI.

Additionally, Dr. Horesh holds an adjunct Associate Professor position at the Computer Science department of Columbia University where he teaches graduate level Advanced Machine Learning and Quantum Computing courses. Dr. Horesh Received his Ph.D. in 2006 from UCL and joined IBM in 2009.

Dr. Horesh's research work focuses on algorithmic and theoretical aspects of tensor algebra, numerical analysis, simulation of complex systems, inverse problems, non-linear optimization, experimental design, machine learning, quantum computing and the interplay between first principles models and AI in the context of symbolic scientific discovery.

Call for the Workshop on Industry Applications

The Workshop of Industry Applications (WIA) welcomes submissions describing solutions based on graphics, patterns, and images for industry-applied problems. Contributions are expected to feature innovative applications based on state-of-the-art methods, tools, and techniques related to interactive graphics, image processing, computer vision, visualization, and virtual reality, among other imaging modalities. They are also encouraged to be the result of applied and exploratory research.

Presentation Format

All accepted papers will will be orally presented in a time slot of 10 to 15 minutes.

Proceedings

All accepted papers will be assigned a DOI and will be available at the SBC Open Lib (Sol), which is the Digital Library from Brazilian Computer Society..

Instruction to authors

The paper should be 6 to 8 pages long, including all figures and references. All papers will be double-blind reviewed by two experts.

All submissions must be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and must comply with the SIBGRAPI formatting guidelines defined in the Main Track with the following adjustments:

  • The paper must be submitted in English.
  • Submission system for WIA is at CMT: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/WIA2022
  • The acceptance of a work implies that at least one of its authors will register for the conference and will present it.

Registration
