Workshop of Undergraduate Works (WUW)

Call for Technical Paper Contributions

The main goal of the Workshop of Undergraduate Works (WUW) is to motivate undergraduate students involved in research projects to attend the SIBGRAPI conference. They will have the opportunity to discuss their research with experts in Computer Graphics, Image Processing, and Computer Vision. The WUW provides a first academic experience environment for undergraduate students, including presenting their work for a scientific audience. Students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs or those who have graduated in the past 12 months may submit papers. The manuscript must have a minimum of two authors: the undergraduate student and his advisor (the professor leading the research). There may be additional coauthors, including other students of any level. Accepted papers should be presented at the event as described below.

Selection Criteria

The WUW Program Committee will evaluate the submitted papers regarding the following criteria: originality, technical quality, research contribution, and presentation. Submissions should describe a complete work with methodology and results, although the scientific contribution may be weaker than the one required for the SIBGRAPI Main Track. Submissions without at least preliminary results will be rejected. The best papers presented at the WUW will receive award certificates. Only works presented by a student author are eligible for award.

Submission Instructions

Submit manuscripts in English or Portuguese. Please, follow the SIBGRAPI 2022 formatting guidelines for main track full papers with the following adjustments: The WUW is NOT double-blind. Do not omit authors' names and disregard the anonymity requirement of the main track. In particular, students must appear as the first authors and the advisor as the last author, with eventual co-advisors and other collaborators in between. Submissions in Portuguese should include an abstract in Portuguese, followed by an abstract in English. Papers are limited to 4 double column pages, submitted through the CMT system in the WUW track, available through this link.

Double-Submissions Policy

Simultaneous submissions to the SIBGRAPI Main Track and the WUW are not allowed and will be rejected without a review.

Presentation Format

All authors must present WUW papers in an oral session. The presenting author will have 15 minutes to present the work, followed by 5 minutes to answer questions from the audience.

Proceedings

All accepted papers will be assigned a DOI and will be available at the SBC Open Lib (Sol), which is the Digital Library from Brazilian Computer Society.
